Russia continues to threaten to plant nuclear weapons in Belarus

The Russian Government, which has the world's largest stockpile of nuclear war commitments, has raised the threat of nuclear war as Vladimir Putin prepares to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. Putin brought up the threat of nuclear power to escalate tensions with the United States and NATO due to the invasion of Ukraine.

Russia continues to threaten to plant nuclear weapons in Belarus

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that Russia is preparing to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in neighboring Belarus. This marks the country's latest attempt to use the threat of nuclear war to escalate tensions with the United States and NATO over the invasion of Ukraine. Putin declared that the deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus would not violate the non-proliferation treaties.

Belarus is a landlocked country bordered by Russia to the east and northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest. While the neighboring countries of Belarus are in NATO and the EU group, Belarus has been under the influence of Russia.
