In this week’s rebar market update for Egypt, prices have shown remarkable stability with minor adjustments across various suppliers. Leading steel manufacturer Ezz Steel maintains its position at the top of the pricing spectrum with rebar quoted at EGP 40,700 (830 USD) per tonne. Despite market fluctuations often influencing construction material costs significantly, this week’s figures present a different narrative where most companies held steady on their pricing.
The data reveals that while some suppliers like El Ola Steel adjusted their rates downward by as much as EGP 1,000 per tonne to settle at EGP 36,300 (740 USD) the lowest in this week’s range others such as Beshay and Egyptian Steels have kept their prices unchanged at a competitive rate of EGP 40,500 (826 USD).
As always with commodities like steel rebar which are crucial to infrastructure development and construction projects, even small changes can signal significant trends or shifts in economic undercurrents.
All mentioned prices include a Value Added Tax (VAT) set at 14%
