Polish company Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA (JSW) reported that its coal production in the third quarter of 2023 amounted to 3.43 million tons, an increase of 3.3% compared to the previous quarter and also an increase of 0.2% compared with the third quarter of 2022. JSW coking coal production in the third quarter of this year was at 2.64 million tons, a decrease of 2.2% compared to the previous quarter and 6.7% compared to a year earlier.
In turn, the company's coke production for the above-mentioned period was at the level of 780 thousand tons, decreasing by 8.2% on both a quarterly and annual basis.
In the third quarter of this year, total sales of JSW coal were 3.49 million tons, an increase of 11.5% compared to the previous quarter and also an increase of 7% on an annual basis. In turn, total coke sales were at 700 thousand tons, down 20.4% compared to the previous quarter and also down 13.5% compared to the same quarter last year.
The company's total coking coal sales were 2.65 million tons, up 0.3% on a quarterly basis but down 1.1% on an annual basis. Of this, 1.07 million tons were sold on the domestic market, with a decrease of 6.1% on a quarterly basis and also with a decrease of 6.9% on an annual basis.
