Pakistan's scrap and steel imports decreased in February

According to data from the Pakistani government, Pakistan imported about 142,800 tons of scrap in February this year, a decrease of 36.6% compared to the previous month and 59.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.

During this period, steel product imports decreased by 46.7% monthly and 35.1% annually to about 165,300 tons.

The decrease in Pakistan's imports of scrap and steel products was mainly due to dollar shortages causing delays in issuing letters of credit, decreasing economic confidence and slowing steel demand.
