Oil imports increased by 31.1 percent in February

Turkey's total imports of petroleum and petroleum products increased by 31.1 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 3 million 207 thousand 282 tons.

According to the "Petroleum Market Sector Report" of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority for February, imports of crude oil, which constitutes the largest item in Turkey's total oil imports, increased by 46.9 percent and reached 2 million 345 thousand 489 tons.

In this period, diesel types imports decreased by 1.4 percent to 670 thousand 906 tons. Aviation and marine fuels, gasoline and fuel-oil types and other products constituted the remaining part of the imports.

Thus, total imports increased by 31.1 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year and became 3 million 207 thousand 282 tons. The growth in sales of petroleum products after the epidemic was effective in the increase in imports.

​The highest amount of crude oil and petroleum products was imported from Iraq with 1 million 43 thousand tons, followed by Russia with 803 thousand 447 tons and Kazakhstan with 489 thousand 43 tons.

On the other hand, gasoline sales increased by 41.9 percent to 229 thousand 969 tons in February compared to the same month of the previous year, and diesel sales increased by 2.3 percent to 1 million 772 thousand 821 tons.

Total petroleum products sales increased by 6.8 percent and were recorded as 2 million 134 thousand 791 tons.

Exports of petroleum products increased by 31 percent
Turkey's aviation fuel exports increased by 128.4 percent in February to 288 thousand 658 tons.

In the said period, the export of marine fuels decreased by 163.5 percent to 138 thousand 746 tons.

While the exports of gasoline types decreased by 14 percent to 67 thousand 200 tons, the exports of diesel types decreased by 11.2 percent to 117 thousand 640 tons.

In the oil market, total exports with other products increased by 31 percent to 831 thousand 258 tons.

33.7 percent increase in petroleum products production
In February, the production of diesel types increased by 30.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and became 1 million 208 thousand 26 tons, the production of gasoline types increased by 40.2 percent to 301 thousand 736 tons, the production of aviation fuels increased by 73.6 percent to 305 thousand 996 tons.

Marine fuel production increased by 867.7 percent and was calculated as 163,869 tons.

Total refinery petroleum products production with other fuel types increased by 33.7 percent to 2 million 705 thousand 230 tons.
