According to a company press release, Deputy General Manager Ladd R. Hall will retire from the company after serving for 39 years on June 20, 2020. In addition, effective May 17, 2020, Nucor Steel-Texas General Manager Allen C. Behr will be promoted to Deputy General Manager.
Nucor President and CEO Leon Topalian said that Ladd's retirement and Allen's promotion are part of the strategic succession planning process that the company has been focusing on for the past few years. He thanked Ladd for his exceptional leadership and lasting contributions over the past twenty years and wished him a long and happy retirement. He also added that Allen's 24 years of experience with Nucor have prepared him for his new responsibilities.
In a related announcement, Nucor stated that the 2020 annual shareholders meeting will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The company said that this meeting is being held to prioritize the health and well-being of its shareholders due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on public health.
