Nordwest AG, a prominent German steel procurement cooperative, is in the process of preparing for the construction of a central warehouse in Alsfeld, Hesse. The inception of this project dates back to the year 2020, and it received its final approval in late September. The commencement of construction is anticipated in the first quarter of 2024, with the projected completion and delivery by mid-2025.
Jörg Simon, an executive at Nordwest, expressed a desire to have initiated the planning sooner; however, ensuring meticulous planning and safety measures is of utmost importance. The new facility will boast an impressive storage area spanning 68,000 square meters, complete with 45 loading ramps capable of facilitating the dispatch of up to 120 trucks daily. In addition to steel, Nordwest also manages a wide range of products, including general hardware, tools, construction materials, and sanitary equipment.
