Takahiro Mori, executive vice president in charge of global operations, claims that Nippon Steel Corp. is considering a project outside of its home market that might cost up to ¥100 billion ($733 million). According to him, Australia and Brazil are two potential locations with access to high-quality iron ore and power at lower costs than Japan.
