Kuzeyboru Strategy and Business Development Director Emine Seldüz stated that the investment will make a serious contribution to the Turkish economy and emphasized that the facility with high technology and capacity will support exports and regional infrastructure investments. Stating that the construction of the investment has now been completed at 80 percent, Seldüz said that the construction process will be completed in 2023. and announced that the facility is aimed to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2024. It was stated that Kuzeyboru has adopted an environmentally friendly approach in line with its sustainability policies with this investment and will contribute economically and environmentally by creating employment in the region.
The glass fiber reinforced polymer pipe investment, carried out on an area of 64,359 square meters in Malatya 3rd Organized Industrial Zone, will be implemented at a cost of approximately 500 million TL. Glass Reinforced Plastic Pipes (GRP) that Kuzeyboru will produce in 2024 are designed to be used especially in drinking water projects and various infrastructure applications.
With the completion of this new facility of Kuzeyboru, the company's total production area will reach 191,350 square meters and its annual production capacity will increase to 305 thousand tons. According to Global Market Insight data, it is stated that the worldwide CPT Pipe Market size reached 5.46 billion USD in 2020 and an annual growth of 4.5 percent is expected in the 2021-2027 period. With this investment, Kuzeyboru's contribution to the Turkish economy is expected to increase further.
