Event started on 4 March with working group meeting, which was held on reforming the income tax on the income of citizens from scrap with the participation of members of specialised bodies, committees and commissions of the Association of NSRO "RUSLOM.COM".
The first day also marked an open meeting of the RUSLOM.COM Association members. The participation of foreign delegations was a demonstration of the Russian economy's turn towards the Global South and East in the scrap procurement and metallurgy: Iran (Iran Recycling Association), Türkiye (OTASAD - Turkish Vehicle Recycling Association) and China (Association of Recyclers of Secondary Resources); reports were made on the activities of the relevant foreign associations, including the exchange of experience in protecting business interests and implementing legislative initiatives. The Recycling Association of Iran and RUSLOM.COM signed a memorandum of co-operation. One of the European industry associations, the Hungarian Recycling Association HOSZ, also took an active part in the event.
The opening ceremony of the Moscow International Recycling Expo 2024p took place on 5 March. Vladimir Volodkin, President of the RUSLOM.COM Association made welcoming speech. There was also a strategic session devoted to the issues of interaction with individuals in the field of cash and non-cash payments for scrap. In the same time, the first part of the seminar on handling of scrap and waste of precious metals and electronic equipment (WEEE) was held in parallel with the session "Non-cash". Leading market experts, representatives of authorities and business took part in it.
The 19th International Forum "Scrap of ferrous and non-ferrous metals" included industry sessions dedicated to the market of steel scrap, special steel scrap, ferroalloys, aluminium, as well as the handling of scrap and waste of precious metals and electronic equipment.
On 5 March international cooperation agreements were signed between HuaHun-Rus and RUSLOM.COM Association, as well as between RUSLOM.COM and Iranian Recycling Association. An agreement on partnership development was also signed between RUSLOM.COM and the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia.
The Conference "Primary and Secondary Aluminium Market: 2024-2030 Prospects" was held on the 6th of March.
On 7 March, forum participants visited the Elektrostal Heavy Machine Building Plant (EZTM) and the Ecoplast plant.
As a result, experts discussed the impact of sanctions and decarbonisation on the metals and scrap markets. Trends in state regulation in the field of scrap and waste metal handling in Russia and globally were presented. The Forum became a platform for establishing international co-operation in scrap processing.
