According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data compiled by SteelRadar, Turkiye's imports of railway fastener rails increased by 6.45 per cent in October compared to the same period last year, while decreasing by 91.47 per cent compared to the previous month.
In addition to this contradictory situation in imports of railway fastener rails, a remarkable increase was also observed in total import figures. The total import volume, which was 15,471 tonnes in the January-October period of last year, increased by 168.34% to 41,550 tonnes in the same period of this year.
These data reflect the complex trends in imports of railway fastener rails and developments in Turkiye's railway sector in general. The increase in imports over this period reflects changes in demand for railway infrastructure and growth in the sector.
