Mexico's wire rod consumption experienced a downturn, marking a 2.2% y-o-y decrease in October. The apparent consumption fell to 226,000 tons, putting an end to the two-month growth streak.
Over the first 10 months of the year, the cumulative figures reveal a 1.7% decline in wire rod consumption, translating to a reduction of 39,000 tons compared to the same period last year. The total consumption now stands at 2.21 million tons.
Compounding the issue, production also faced a setback, dropping by 14.7% or 362,000 tons to reach 2.09 million tons.
