Manufacturing PMI, compiled by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), was 51.5 in April. The index remained above 50 for the fifth consecutive month, indicating that business conditions in the sector continued to recover.
Production in the manufacturing sector continued to rise for the third consecutive month and recorded the fastest growth since August 2021. Although most companies reported increased demand, some stated that they were only just able to resume operations after the earthquake.
The production sub-index rose from 51.9 to 52 in May
New orders increased for the third consecutive month. Despite a small decrease compared to April, the new orders sub-index continued to expand. Most companies noted that increased demand contributed to the growth of new business.
