Luhansk People's Republic invested $10.5 million in the metallurgical industry

In January-March 2024, the total investment in metallurgical enterprises in the Luhansk People's Republic amounted to $ 10.5 million.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Luhansk People's Republic, the total volume of investments in the development of metallurgical enterprises in the Luhansk People's Republic in January-March 2024 amounted to about $10.5 million.

It is reported that the production of metal products in the region has also increased significantly. Products which are in demand throughout Russia are also supplied to the markets of neighbouring countries in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The share of foundry production in the total volume of the Republic's manufacturing industry is over 74 %. About 30 major metallurgical enterprises operate in the region. Since 2023, 13 metallurgical enterprises of the LNR have benefited from state support. Eight of them have become residents of the free economic zone, and five of them have received loans from the LNR Industrial Development Fund in the amount of about $ 3.5 million.

Currently, the production capacity utilisation rate of LNR metallurgical enterprises has reached 50%. In January-April 2024, the sales volumes of metallurgical products of LNR enterprises increased by more than 41% compared to the same period in 2023.
