While the loss of life in earthquakes exceeded 24 thousand, search and rescue works continue.
Oktay made a statement about the works carried out after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes at the coordination center under the Presidency of AFAD.
Saying that 32,071 search and rescue teams in the field continue to work with all their strength, Oktay stated that K9 dogs and all available technology are used to the fullest in search and rescue.
Reminding that air and sea vehicles continue to be used, Oktay said, "26 ships, 70 aircraft and 114 helicopters are in the fleet we are currently using. All work continues with 45 UAVs and 9 drones."
Noting that the Ministry of Justice established Earthquake Crimes Investigation Offices for deaths and injuries in 10 provinces affected by the earthquake, Oktay said, "So far, one of 131 suspects whose responsibility has been determined for the buildings destroyed in the earthquake in 10 provinces has been arrested, and detention orders have been given to 113 of them."
