LISCO shatters records: Achieves design capacity after 26 years

In a significant development for the Libyan Iron and Steel Company (LISCO), the company has proudly announced the successful attainment of the design capacity at its Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant for the first time in 26 years. The DRI plant's production soared to an impressive 650 thousand tons of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI), perfectly aligning with the long-awaited design capacity of the facility.

After years of meticulous planning, strategic investments, and dedicated efforts, LISCO has reached a historic milestone in the production of Direct Reduced Iron. The achievement marks a major turnaround for the company and the Libyan industrial sector as a whole.

The DRI plant, a vital component of LISCO's operations, has faced numerous challenges over the past two and a half decades, including political instability, economic downturns, and technical issues. However, the recent success demonstrates the resilience and determination of the company to overcome obstacles and revive its industrial capabilities.
