President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan greeted the participants at the 49th Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) Adding Value to the Economy Award Ceremony at Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center and congratulated the companies, business people and executives who received awards.
Erdoğan thanked BTSO for showing that skill is subject to compliments and said,
“With its 135 years of deep-rooted history, our Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with its 57 thousand member companies, makes very important contributions to the economy of Türkiye as well as our city. Today, in addition to our award ceremony, we are also opening 15 companies that started production in TEKNOSAB (Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone), which was realized with the support of our Ministry of Industry and Technology under the leadership of our Chamber. I congratulate the owners and employees of these companies, and I would like to thank them in advance for their support for Türkiye's development, strengthening and growth.”
Emphasizing that TEKNOSAB, in which 25 billion liras have been invested so far, will be one of the symbols of Türkiye's transition to high-tech production, President Erdoğan said, “As you know, we recently presented the HIT-30 program, which will take our country to this goal faster, to the appreciation of our public opinion. In a short period of 5 months, we have come to the point of bringing investments in strategic issues such as electric vehicles, solar cells, battery cells, wind turbines with a total size of more than 7 billion dollars to our country. Hopefully, we will achieve better results.”
Pointing out that the world is going to a very different place with artificial intelligence technology and drone systems, Erdoğan said:
“In this respect, every step taken within TEKNOSAB is very valuable. I believe that Bursa, the locomotive city of production, will set an example for other cities in the field of technology. Unfortunately, the high level of consciousness in the government, industry and academia cannot be found in the opposition. There is no such vision, curiosity or passion in the opposition. They have never been able to overcome only the magazine aspect of the business. The last project they advertised for months as an advanced technology move during the elections on May 14-28 was a live lecture by an economist from the USA. Unfortunately, those who came after could not rise above this level. They are so caught up in the internal power struggle that they cannot even follow what is happening in the world and in our region, where technology is evolving. The same disappointing picture applies in almost every field, from foreign policy to regional issues, from economy to working life. They have certain memorizations and ideological obsessions, and they cannot go beyond them. They are not only unwilling but also incapable of updating and renewing themselves.''
