The order introduced a temporary ban on the export of scrap and waste ferrous metals, as well as used pipes, rails, elements of the railroad bed and rolling stock by railroad transport from the territory of Kazakhstan.
This norm was adopted in order to provide and load domestic metallurgical enterprises with raw materials, as the maximum processing of secondary metals within the country is a strategically important direction for the production of products of higher conversion, as well as environmental cleanliness and minimum energy consumption.
The order came into effect on August 22, 2024.
