Karabuk Demir Çelik Fabrikaları(KARDEMİR) announced that it has been Türkiye's only railway wheel manufacturer since 2019.
The program, organized jointly with rail systems stakeholders, started with a tour of the Railway Wheel Rolling Mill and continued with the "Railway Wheel Workshop" held in Yenişehir.
The following statements were made in the statement:
"In the workshop, it was mentioned that the need for railway wheels, which was completely met by imports, is now provided by KARDEMİR AŞ, and that the fact that it has started to be met with domestic resources and national production has made significant contributions to the domestic and national industry. In the workshop, issues such as increasing product diversity and production capacities as well as domestic and national railway wheel production, nationalization within new targets and plans, production of new wheel types and common targets were discussed."
At the workshop, authorized persons from TCDD General Directorate, TÜRASAŞ General Directorate, TÜRASAŞ Sivas and Sakarya regional directorates, Körfez Ulaştırma AŞ, Acarlar Vagon and Özar Group and KARDEMİR General Manager Necdet Utkanlar, Deputy General Manager of Operations Ahmet Aycan, Deputy General Manager of Financial Affairs (CFO) Fazıl Çiftçi, Deputy General Manager of Strategy and Investments Şerif Okluoğlu, Deputy General Manager of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Mustafa Karakuş, unit managers and engineers came together.
The workshop ended with a group photo session.
