Japan's tallest skyscraper opens in Tokyo

"Mori JP Tower", built in the 80 thousand square meter "Azabudai Hills" complex in the Minato district of the capital Tokyo, was opened.

The structure, which has 5 floors below ground and 64 floors above ground, has achieved the title of "Japan's tallest skyscraper".

The building, which is expected to attract 30 million visitors every year, includes shops, offices and institutes, as well as hotel chain Aman Resorts and luxury residences.

In his opening speech, Naka Hiroki, an official of the contractor Mori Building Co. said that the project will make Tokyo an internationally competitive city.

The $4.3 billion "Azabudai Hills" complex project is a 5-minute walk from Kamiyacho and Roppongi Inland train stations.

Before the construction of the "Mori JP Tower" skyscraper was completed, the 300-meter "Abeno Harukas" in the Osaka metropolis was the tallest building in the country.

The construction of the 390-meter skyscraper under construction near Tokyo Station, owned by Mitsubishi Estate Co., is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
