Japan's iron and steel exports experience decline in November

According to the latest data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan witnessed a 4% decline in iron and steel product exports in November, marking a 7% decrease compared to the preceding month.

In the first 11 months of the current year, Japan's total iron and steel exports reached approximately 30 million tons, reflecting a modest 1.7% increase from the corresponding period in the previous year.

South Korea emerged as the largest importer of Japan's iron and steel products, acquiring a substantial 5.2 million tons. Following closely behind were Thailand, China, and Taiwan, with import figures of 4.3 million tons, 2.6 million tons, and 1.5 million tons, respectively.

This recent shift in export dynamics raises questions about the factors contributing to the decline in Japan's iron and steel product shipments and the burgeoning demand in South Korea.
