According to statistics, Japan's cold-rolled sheet and strip shipments totalled about 334,000 tonnes in April, down 25% from the previous month and 15% from a year earlier.
About 57% of them were shipped to the domestic market, while the rest were sent to export markets.
In the same period, Japan's cold-rolled plate and strip output was around 328,000 tonnes, down 19% on a monthly basis and 7% on a yearly basis.
