Italy's crude steel production decreased by 12.1 per cent y-o-y to 1.9 million mt in April.
In the first four months of 2023, production decreased by 7.6 per cent y-o-y to 7.5 million mt.
Buyers remained on hold in April due to weak demand and high local prices compared to the international market, and this trend continued in May, while they expect a recovery from July onwards.
As a result, some steel producers reduced their production.
It was said that Italy's crude steel production in 2023 is expected to contract by 8%-10% compared to 2022.
