SteelRadar analysts compiled data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Customs Undersecretariat's preliminary foreign trade data to estimate that the value of Türkiye's iron and steel imports in March 2024 decreased by 17.9% to $2.15 billion compared to the same month last year.
In this month, the value of iron and steel imports ranked sixth in the list of products with the highest import value.
During January-March period of this year, it decreased by 2.4% compared to the same period of last year to $5.83 billion.
The import value of iron or steel products ranked 13th in the list of the country's products with the highest import value in the mentioned month.
The value of imports of iron or steel products decreased by 4.1% compared to the same month of the previous year to $ 346.42 million in March, while in the first three months of the year it increased by 1.1% compared to the same period of the previous year to $ 972.87 million.
