Iraq's Muhaj Baghdad partners with Danieli for state of the art rebar rolling mill

Muhaj Baghdad, a prominent Iraqi company, has inked a groundbreaking deal with Danieli to spearhead the development of a cutting-edge rolling mill facility capable of producing 500,000 tons per year of rebar.

The envisioned facility will leverage Danieli's advanced high-speed rolling technology to manufacture premium-quality rebar ranging in diameter from 10 to 40 mm.

Anticipated to commence operations in the latter part of the third quarter of 2025, the new high-speed mill is expected to usher in a new era of efficiency and productivity in rebar production within the region.

Under the agreement, Danieli will not only supply state-of-the-art equipment but also extend its expertise in plant starting, installation, and training advisory services. Furthermore, the inclusion of Danieli Automation L1 automation systems underscores a commitment to cutting-edge technological solutions.

With this strategic investment, Muhaj Baghdad is slated to emerge as a key contender in Iraq's TMT bar market, poised to meet the growing demand for high-quality rebar in the region. This collaboration between Muhaj Baghdad and Danieli marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Iraq's steel industry, promising enhanced capabilities and bolstered competitiveness in the global market.
