As of May 2023, Iran has reached the seventh position among the world's top crude steel producers, with a production of 3.3 million tons. This represents a significant increase of 8.8% compared to the same period in the previous year when the production was 2.3 million tons. It's worth noting that China, India, and Japan have traditionally been dominant players in the global steel production industry, consistently ranking at the top. However, Iran's rise in the rankings demonstrates its growing significance in the steel production sector.

According to the data by the World Steel Association, crude steel production the combined crude steel production of 63 countries amounted to 161.6 million tons. This figure represents a decrease of 5.1% compared to March 2022. It is stated that Iran ranked seventh among the world leaders in crude steel production, with a total output of 3.3 million tons. This indicates that Iran has made significant progress in its steel production capabilities. In May 2023, it increased its crude steel production by 8.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, and it was observed that it reached 3.3 million tons from 2.3 million tons.
