Industries Qatar is recognized for leading the way in manufacturing industrial products of the highest quality, as well as delivering profits and expanding its investment portfolio to meet shareholders' expectations. Qatar Industries Qatar is also active in three different businesses, Petrochemicals, Fertilizers and Steel. These companies are known as Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), Qatar Fuel Additives Company limited (QAFAC), Qatar Fertilizer Company (QAFCO) and Qatar Steel, respectively.
Qatar Steel, a subsidiary of the company, was first established in 1974 and has three subsidiaries in the steel industry, Qatar Steel Company FZE, Qatar Steel Industrial Investment Company S.P.C. and Qatar Steel Rebar Fabrication Facility S.P.C. It is also known as a partner of Foulath Holding B.S.C., Qatar Metals Coating Company W.L.L and SOLB Steel Company.
Qatar Steel manufactures DRI/HBI and semi-finished, and finished products. The main markets for HBI / DRI products are the Middle East, India and the Far East. The billets produced are processed in Qatar Steel's rebar production, while the rest is exported to neighboring countries in the Gulf region. Marketing of finished and final products takes place in Qatar and the UAE.
