According to data released by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel), India's crude steel production in September decreased by about 4.88% compared to August and 0.2% compared to the same month of the previous year to 11.7 million tons. With this performance, India maintained its second position in the world crude steel production ranking.
In January-September 2024, India's total crude steel production increased by 5.8% y-o-y to 110.3 million tons. India's monthly crude steel production, which has been flat at 12.3 million tons since June, fell in September, reflecting the challenges in the industry.
