According to data released by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel), India's crude steel production in August remained unchanged compared to July, but increased by 2.6% compared to the same month the previous year, reaching 12.3 million tons. With this performance, India maintained its second position in the world crude steel production ranking.
In the January-August period of 2024, India's total crude steel production increased by 6.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching 98.5 million tons. The country's monthly crude steel production has remained stable at 12.3 million tons since June.
