Odisha leads the country's crude steel production, followed by the five largest steel producing states of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and West Bengal, respectively.
In FY 2023-24, India's crude steel production is expected to increase by around 8-10 per cent to 137 mnt from the current 126 mnt. This growth will be driven by demand from the construction, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors.
