Immersive experience: Ezz Steel Company's day at the 16th Arab Steel Summit

The 16th Arab Steel Summit, a significant event for the steel industry in the Arab world, commenced with a highly anticipated visit to the Ezz Steel Company's state-of-the-art facility in Ain Sokhna, Egypt. The summit, which brings together key stakeholders from the steel sector, offers a platform for discussions and networking aimed at enhancing cooperation and addressing common challenges.

Ezz Steel Company, one of Egypt's leading steel manufacturers, opened its doors to an international delegation of industry leaders, government officials, and experts. This visit provided attendees with a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the cutting-edge technologies and practices employed by the company.

The tour of Ezz Steel's Ain Sokhna facility showcased the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation. Participants had the chance to explore the vast steel production plant, which boasts modern equipment and advanced environmental controls. Ezz Steel has made substantial investments in adopting eco-friendly processes, reducing carbon emissions, and ensuring that its operations are in line with global environmental standards.

During this visit, they were provided with a comprehensive insight into the steel production process, starting from the reduction of iron ore in direct reduction factories and its transformation into high-purity iron. The delegates also learned about the intricate rolling, handling, and monitoring procedures involved in the steel manufacturing process. This tour shed light on the various stages, from raw materials and casting to rolling and the final product.

Many noted that Ezz Steel's factories in Ain Sokhna are on par with the highest industry standards in Europe. Ezz Steel operates four integrated factories strategically located near major sea and land transportation routes in Alexandria, Suez, Sadat, and the 10th of Ramadan City.

The company's exports are directed from its Alexandria factories to customers in Europe and the United States via the Mediterranean Sea. Simultaneously, exports to customers in the Middle East and extending to Asia are facilitated through Ezz Steel's Ain Sokhna factories, benefiting from its prime location adjacent to Sokhna Port. In total, Ezz Steel boasts an annual production capacity of 7 million tons, with 4.7 million tons dedicated to wire rod and 2.3 million tons of hot-rolled coil steel. This robust capacity underscores Ezz Steel's position as a leading steel manufacturer in the region.

Mr. Ahmed Ezz, Chairman and CEO of Ezz Steel Company, expressed his gratitude for hosting the delegation and emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in the steel industry. He highlighted the role of the Arab Steel Summit in fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange to drive the sector's growth.
