How did the global steel market progress?

Compared to last week, prices in the steel market decreased.

How did the global steel market progress?

Weekly price summary;

Black Sea FOB export logs fell from $535/t to $524-529/t last week.

In China's domestic market, billet prices were down by $489/t from $495/t ex-works, while imported billet were down by $440-445/t from $490/t CFR.

In Southeast Asia, billet prices in the import market increased from $520/t CFR to $535-540/t CFR.

With the exception of Italy and the UK, the average monthly electricity price in European countries was below €110/Mwh.

The most-traded iron ore quotations on the Dalian Commodity Exchange were unchanged at $100.84/t, unchanged from the previous week's level.

Hot rolled steel prices in Western Europe were €830-860/t, the same as last week. They also decreased by 2.4% or €20/t to €810-840/t in the Italian market.

Turkey HMS 1/2 scrap metal prices were down by 4.5% from last week to $375-385/t.
