Hoa Phat to shut down one of its blast furnaces

The Vietnamese company Hoa Phat will shut down blast furnace No. 3 at the Hai Duong steel plant in September 2023 for three months. The reason for the closure was explained as the need for maintenance of the blast furnace. The capacity of the furnace, which is preparing to close, was recorded as 1.2 million tons of steel per year.

Also, looking at the first half of 2023, sales of Hoa Phat decreased by 23% to 3.46 million tons.
