The manufacturer, which says that the old converter supply has been exhausted, will replace it with a new one with similar dimensions and a higher heat weight of up to 105 tons. In this way, it will be possible to minimize financial and time costs and at the same time increase the efficiency of the converter, he noted. The equipment replacement works are planned to last about 55 days, and the new converter is planned to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2020.
HBIS Serbia replaces converter
HBIS Serbia has placed an order to replace one of the three converters with the German-Japanese steel equipment manufacturer Primetals Technologies.
