HBIS is known as the first manufacturer outside of ArcelorMittal to leave a furnace open idle. It is currently preparing to put the furnace idle to adapt to the market environment and is said to be restarted when conditions allow.
In addition to weak demand, rising gas costs are also affecting producers. A smaller Visegrad mill has stopped all its rolling lines due to lackluster buying and high conversion costs and is casting slabs for the commercial market.
