According to media reports, flat metal production in the first three months of the year amounted to 636.7 thousand tons. This figure was 6.5% higher than in the previous quarter and 3.7% higher than in the same period of 2024.
In the same period, cast iron production reached 849.7 thousand tons, an increase of 5.1% compared to the previous quarter and 8.5% compared to the same period last year. Steel production was 748.4 thousand tons, up 4.8% quarter-on-quarter and 2.4% y-o-y.
Significant Increases in March
In March 2025, the growth in production volumes accelerated remarkably. Flat metal production amounted to 226 thousand tons, up 3% y-o-y and 15.5% m-o-m. Cast iron production increased to 296.6 thousand tons, up 8.6% y-o-y and 11.8% m-o-m. Steel production was 270.1 thousand tons, an increase of 3.9% y-o-y and 14.8% m-o-m.
2024 Performance
These results are a continuation of the positive production dynamics observed in 2024. In 2024, Zaporizhstal managed to increase commercial flat metal production by 18.3% to 2.43 million tons, cast iron production by 14.3% to 3.11 million tons, and steel production by 17.2% to 2.89 million tons.
