5G, the next-generation communication technology, is expected to generate added value of USD 13.2 trillion in the global economy by 2035. Of this, USD 4.7 trillion is projected to be realized in the production sector. Within the scope of the cooperation between Hannover Fairs Turkey Fuarcılık A.Ş., Nokia and Turkcell Digital Business Services, taking a leading role in both introducing 5G technology to the Turkish industry and effectively deploying it to gain the biggest market share, these leading brands of the industrial automation sector met at the Nokia Türkiye office for the WIN EURASIA 5G Arena Launch.
Digital and physical worlds come to life in the metaverse universe at WIN EURASIA 5G Arena
Speaking at the meeting, Hannover Fairs Turkey A.Ş. Head Of WIN EURASIA Sena Mengül noted that, thanks to their cooperation last year, 5G technology was introduced to the Turkish industry and trade for the first time in a public event at WIN EURASIA. Mengül said, “A special demo application was set up at WIN EURASIA 5G Arena this year with the vision of 'Industry 5.0: Factory of the Future'. I am proud to say that this special space – one that will bring the digital and physical worlds together in the metaverse universe to create a surreal experience – will be built for the first time at WIN EURASIA. After 5G technology is commercialized in Türkiye, it is expected to create an added value of USD 10 billion in the industry during the first five years, with 40% of this added value expected to be realized in the industrial automation sector. We are talking about a huge market and a technological transformation that opens new horizons for all those we follow closely." Mengül invited participants to meet again at WIN EURASIA, the manufacturing industry’s largest regional meeting, to experience the technologies of the future.
Bilgin Erensoy, Country Manager Turkey, Nokia said: “We are excited to be a technological partner at WIN EURASIA for a second time this year. Jointly with Turkcell, our strategic customer in Türkiye, we are providing 5G coverage at the 5G Arena with the Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) to enable industrial 5G use cases at this impactful event. Industrial manufacturing and automation sectors in Türkiye are developing at an exciting pace and we are committed to support Turkish enterprises on their digital transformation journey. With our comprehensive portfolio of solutions, we are ready to support many private wireless network deployment scenarios across various industries in Türkiye as we have for over 595 private wireless enterprise customers around the world.”
Commercial potential of 5G showcased through 25 different use cases
Taking place between 7-10 June 2023, the WIN EURASIA – World of Industry Fair will bring the manufacturing industry together under the same roof for the 29th time at the İstanbul Expo Centre, with the motto “Industry meets diversity.” At the 5G Arena Launch, technologies to be introduced for the first time, along with demo applications available only in the 5G Arena, were announced to the public. During the demo presentation by Hannover Fairs Turkey Special Events and Technology Content Manager Murat Bayazıt, within the scope of the 5G Arena Launch and cooperation, Nokia DAC will be shown as the Turkcell 5G network, setting an example of how 5G will be commercialized in the Turkish industry via the added value that 5G will create in vertical sectors. Twenty-five different usage scenarios were presented.
Works of art will be made by robots in the future
In the demo presentation at the 5G Arena Launch, which took place before the WIN EURASIA fair, the “Melfa Asista” robot, tested over Nokia DAC and Turkcell 5G (MPN) and designed by Mitsubishi Electric Türkiye, created original and unique art; visual prompts were entered as text and created by artificial intelligence as a painting.
Meta Industry World presented for the first time
At the 5G Arena Launch, the demo demonstration with the concept of "Smart Production with Metaverse" by MCS Group was tested for the first time with 5G. Within the scope of the scenario, industrial control systems and robot simulation in the industrial production line communicated with 5G in an integrated manner with Metaverse. This new concept, called 'Meta Industry', was one of the firsts in Türkiye in industrial manner.
The factory of the future will be experienced in the world of the metaverse over 5G
The demo application, to be created along the vision of "Industry 5.0: Factory of the Future", will be built for the first time as specially designed for the WIN EURASIA 5G Arena, a special area where the digital world and the physical world merge to offer a surreal experience in the metaverse universe. Through a decentralized automation approach, operational processes in various locations will be monitored with real-time 5G over the metaverse.
By 2030, 125 billion devices will communicate via IoT and 5G
