Vietnam's steel exports increased in October

Vietnam's steel exports increased moderately in October, with a total volume of approximately 908,000 tonnes; This represents a 5% increase compared to the previous month.

The export value associated with this volume amounted to approximately US$656 million, reflecting annual growth of 7.5%.

Despite the monthly increase in October, the overall performance of Vietnamese steel exports weakened slightly in the first ten months of 2023. During this period, the country exported a total of 9.1 million tons of steel, an increase of 30.7% compared to the same period last year. However, the value created by these exports reached around 6.95 billion US dollars, which corresponds to an annual increase of 0.1%.

The distribution of Vietnam's steel exports in 2023 revealed a wide range of target markets. Italy, Cambodia, the USA, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Belgium, Spain and Taiwan were the main buyers of Vietnamese steel products.
