Vietnamese steel company Pomina Steel has formed a strategic partnership with Japanese scrap supplier and exporter Nansei. As a result of this partnership, Nansei Steel will purchase a 20 percent stake in Vietnam's Pomina Steel for $29 million.
The acquisition will take place in two parts, August 2023 and September 2024, and Pomina Steel will issue additional shares.
It was stated that the purchased funds will be used to renew the working capital and to return the 1 million tons capacity blast furnace to operation.
Currently, Pomina Steel's annual capacity has been announced as 1.5 million tons of steel and 1 million tons of long products.
