Vedanta's iron ore production decreased in Q3

In Q3 of the fiscal year 2021-2022, Indian mining company Vedanta experienced a decline in iron ore production compared to the previous year.

In Q3 of the fiscal year 2021-2022, Vedanta experienced a decline in iron ore production compared to the previous year. According to their production report, Karnataka's iron ore production reached 1.2 million tons, representing a 14% decrease compared to the same period the previous year, and a 4% decrease compared to the previous month. However, pig iron production increased by 39% year on year, reaching 202,000 tons, while steel output increased by 3% year on year, reaching 350,000 tons, and by 20% compared to the previous month.

For the first three quarters of the fiscal year, the overall iron ore output from Karnataka mine amounted to 4 million tons, marking a 4% increase compared to the previous year. Total pig iron output was 612,000 tons, showing a significant 39% year on year increase. Furthermore, the total steel output amounted to 932,000 tons, demonstrating a 7% increase compared to the previous year.
