Vedanta, an Indian mining company, has announced that its aluminum production reached a total of 584,000 tons in the second quarter of the current fiscal year. This represents a 3% increase compared to the previous quarter and a 2.5% increase from the same period last year.
Additionally, zinc output during the July-September quarter rose by 3% year on year to 255,000 tons, primarily attributed to improved grades and a better mill recovery.
In the first quarter of fiscal year 2023, Vedanta witnessed a 6% year-on-year growth in net profit, amounting to Rs 5,592 crore, driven by a substantial 36% increase in net sales to Rs 38,251 crore during that period.
