According to the Ministry of Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a ceremony dedicated to the start of construction of the Surenata mining complex was held in Parkent district of Tashkent region. The ceremony was attended by government officials, as well as the director of Limaomaoli Metal Company LLC, an Uzbekistan-based iron ore mining company with 100% Chinese participation, which is the investor of the project.
The Surenata complex will produce 2.4 million tonnes of ore per year. The capacity of the complex is 1 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate per year. The project is expected to invest USD 50 million and create 400-500 new jobs.
