Notably, April 2023 marked a significant year-over-year increase, with exports reaching 494.507 tons, reflecting a notable 19% rise compared to the same period in the prior year. Moreover, within the same month, a month-over-month increase of 11% was also recorded.
Conversely, July 2023 experienced a year-over-year decline of 19%, with exports dwindling to 314.351 tons.
According to SteelRadar's data sourced from the UN Comtrade Database, the United States emerged as the primary destination for Canada's scrap exports, accounting for a substantial share of 3.241.756 tons. Following closely, India ranked second with 379.075 tons, followed by Türkiye with 219.058 tons. Other countries that also had a large share in exports were Mexico and Egypt.
