For the week ending October 26, U.S. crude steel production slightly decreased by 0,2% compared to the same period in 2023, totaling 1,660,000 net tons with a capability utilization rate of 74,7%. Production for the same week in 2023 was slightly higher, reaching 1,664,000 net tons, with a capability utilization rate of 72,4%.
However, weekly production increased by 1,8% compared to the previous week ending October 19, when 1,631,000 net tons were produced, and the capability utilization rate was 73,4%.
Year-to-date figures through October 26, show a total crude steel production of 72,729,000 net tons at a capability utilization rate of 76,4%, a decrease of 1,7% compared to the same period in 2023, when production was 74,002,000 net tons and the capability utilization rate was also 76,4%.
