According to data released by the US Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), crude steel production increased by 0.2 percent in the week ending October 28 compared to the previous week and reached 1 million 707 thousand tons.
Steel producers worked at 74.3 percent capacity in the week in question. The capacity utilization rate of steel producers was recorded at 75.9 percent for this period.
The increase in total production was 3.8 percent compared to the same month last year.
Since the beginning of the year, production decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year to 73 million 623 thousand tons.
