The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI)
reported that domestic crude steel production in the US for the week ended November 19 was 1 million 628 thousand net tons, with a capacity utilization rate of 73.0%.
As of the same week of last year, the production was 1 million 828 thousand tons and the capacity utilization rate was 82.8%. Production in the last week is 10.9% compared to a year ago
shows a decrease in rate.
The production of the week ending on November 19 decreased by 1.0% compared to the previous week when the capacity utilization rate was 73.7% and the production was 1 million 645 thousand tons.
As of the week ending November 19, annual total production decreased by 51% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 79 million 620 thousand tons. Capacity utilization
rate also decreased from 81.3% to 78.7%.
