US steel imports decreased in October compared to a year earlier

According to data from the US Department of Commerce, US steel imports decreased by 0.3% m-o-m and 9.7% y-o-y to about 1.98 million tons in October.

The value of US steel imports reached USD 2.7 billion, up 10.4% on month and down 18.7% on year.

The main importing countries are as follows;

Canada (about 505,000 tons),

Mexico (approximately 280,008 tons),

South Korea (approximately 151,000 tons),

Japan (approximately 122,000 tons)

Germany (approximately 113,000 tons)
