In March this year, US steel exports stood at about 804,000 tons, increased by 12.7% from the previous month and 5.1% from the same month a year earlier.
Canada was the main export center
Exports to Canada were about 390,000 tons, to Mexico about 363,000 tons, to India about 4,700 tons, to China about 3,400 tons, to the Dominican Republic about 2,700 tons, to the UK about 2,400 tons and to Brazil about 2,350 tons.
Major steel products exported:
Major steel exports from the United States included hot-dip galvanized products, about 122,000 tons; cut-to-length plate, about 105,000 tons; hot-rolled thin plate, about 73,000 tons; cold-rolled thin plate, about 59,000 tons; and flat-rolled steel, about 40,000 tons.
Export value increased
In this period, the value of exports increased by 13.6% m-o-m to approximately USD 1.4 billion.
