In August 2023, US slab imports were down by 34% m-o-m and 25% y-o-y to around 207,000 tons.
Imports from Brazil totaled about 104,500 tons, from Mexico about 72,000 tons and from Canada about 31,000 tons.
The value of imports during this period amounted to approximately US$ 134 million.
