The number of drilling rigs in the United States experienced a decline, while Canada witnessed an increase in its rig count on a week-on-week basis. As of June 16, the US recorded a decrease of 8 units, resulting in a total of 687 rotary rigs. Within this count, the number of natural gas drilling rigs decreased by 5 units, reaching 130 units, while oil drilling rigs fell by 4 units, totaling 552 units. In comparison to the previous year, the overall rig count in the US decreased by 53 units.
Meanwhile, Canada observed a rise in its rig count during the same period, with an increase of 23 units to reach a total of 159 units. However, when compared to the corresponding period from the previous year, Canada's rig count experienced a decrease of 3 units.
